Mr. Denys Antas graduated from the University of Malaya in 1981 with an Honours, Degree in Analytical Economics. He started his career in retail and commercial banking and rose to the position of Branch Manager. In 1991 when Labuan was declared as an International Offshore Financial Centre, he was seconded to the first licence Offshore Bank in Labuan IFC as its Assistant Chief Executive Officer. He was privileged to undergo training in offshore banking and trust services with Coutts & Company in Tax Heaven Island of Cayman. In 1997 he joined the Business Focus Group to head its Investment Division for projects in Europe and South Africa while sitting as a Director for Metropolitan Allied Bank (Ghana) Ltd.
He left the Group in 2000 to start his own family business. In 2014, he served as Special Officer to the Minister for Plantation Industries and Commodities and a contract Officer with Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB). In 2017 he returned to Sarawak to serve as Special Administrative Officer (Investment) to the Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak. He obtained a Certificate in Financial Planning in 2008 and had served as investment Committee Member for Pheim Unit Trust Sdn Bh a licenced CMSA company. In September 2019 he was seconded from Chief Minister’s Office to Sarawak Land Development Board (SLDB) to set up the Venture Capital Unit or known as Sarawak Agro Fund Unit.
